Quiet toilet flush for an even quieter home or office

The Geberit toilet system has a range of new components to produce a noticeably quieter flush. This can have health benefits.

Noise is unhealthy because it puts the body into an alert state and causes our heart to beat faster. Particularly at night, noise can disturb our sleep cycle. As anyone who has been woken up by the sound of their neighbour’s toilet flushing or shower running will know, the limit of what we consider to be loud is significantly lower at night than during the day.

The toilet can also be a source of noise at night. If you go to the toilet at night, the sound of the flush and cistern refilling can wake up other people if they’re light sleepers.

In flats and apartments that have thin walls and where sounds travel easily, neighbours can often hear when you flush the toilet.

A loud toilet flush not only disturbs the peace and quiet but also impacts privacy. It’s no surprise then that there are many benefits of an ultra-quiet toilet flush and almost completely silent filling of the cistern.

Over 30% quieter toilet flush – thanks to the toilet system

Geberit has worked tirelessly over the past few years to make its toilet flush quieter, for example conducting comprehensive tests in our Building Technology and Acoustics Laboratory at our headquarters in Switzerland. With the Geberit toilet system there is now a solution that sets new standards when it comes to ultra-quiet flushes.

Two main components of the toilet system now ensure an incredibly quiet flush, reducing the typical noise level of a toilet by more than 30%:

  • the new Type 383 fill valve and
  • our innovative Geberit TurboFlush technology.

Low-noise filling of the cistern: the Type 383 fill valve

The fill valve is located in the flushing cistern and ensures that the cistern is automatically refilled after every flush. The noise level of the inflowing water is therefore directly related to the fill valve used. Compared to previous models, the new Type 383 Geberit fill valve is much quieter when operating.

Geberit TurboFlush technology

Quiet flush and hygienic ceramic pan thanks to optimised TurboFlush technology

The flush of various Geberit ceramic pans is also ultra quiet. The shape of the ceramic pan plays a major role in how much noise the flush produces and how well it flushes everything out. When flushed, water flows into the ceramic pan from the side, causing it to swirl. This ensures that it glides almost silently over the inner surface of the ceramic pan.

Geberit TurboFlush technology ensures that ceramic pans are flushed incredibly efficiently, quietly and cleanly. Toilets with TurboFlush technology are available in various price categories. All toilets in the bathroom series Geberit ONE, iCon, Acanto, Renova and Selnova as well as all AquaClean shower toilets come with this flush technology.

Good to know: All Geberit ceramic pans with TurboFlush technology are rimless. Rimless toilets are quicker and easier to clean.

Your options depend on what cistern and ceramic pan you have.

If you already have a Geberit cistern: The new Type 383 fill valve is backwards-compatible and fits in any Geberit cistern made over the past 50 years.

A wall-hung toilet can be replaced with a modern ceramic pan complete with a quiet flush without requiring any significant renovations.
