Privacy Policy for Geberit Control App

1. Scope

1.1 This Privacy Policy applies to the use of mobile Geberit Apps (“App”) and the services they provide. Use of the App requires us to collect, use, disclose and process your personal data when you access certain services. By personal data, we mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, or as otherwise defined under applicable data protection law.

1.2 We take your privacy seriously while you are using this App, which is why we would like to take this opportunity to let you know which of your personal data we are processing while you are using the App and what we do with this data. We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, and send you notification of updates to this Privacy Policy in any form as we may deem appropriate.

1.3 If you are an individual located in Singapore, you also consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal data for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy, without affecting any other legal basis upon which we may do so. Where we have identified any particular provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”), we are not precluded from relying on other provisions of the PDPA to establish a lawful basis for our handling your personal data.

2 Responsible entity and Data Protection Officer

2.1 The operator of the App and the responsible entity for processing your personal data is Geberit Verwaltungs AG, Schachenstrasse 77, 8645 Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland.

3 Information on processing your personal data

3.1 INFORMATION COLLECTED WHEN DOWNLOADING

When downloading the App, certain essential information is passed on to your chosen app store (such as Google Play or the Apple App Store). This specifically includes your user name, email address, customer account number, time of download, payment details (if appropriate) and the individual ID number of your end device. As this data is processed exclusively through the respective app store, the way it is handled is beyond our control.
The first time you download the App, we also ask you to specify the country in which you intend to use it so that we can offer you services in the appropriate language. If you are an individual to whom Swiss Federal Law applies, the legal basis for this is established in point (a) of Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Law On Data Protection. Without this information, we would not be able to offer you access to the App in your own language.

3.2 INFORMATION COLLECTED WHILE USING THE APP:

The Mobile App itself does not exchange any personal data with servers hosted by Geberit or any other company. If you create or log in with a Geberit ID-Account, your name, ID, email address and further personal data related to Geberit ID will be stored locally. You can view the Geberit ID privacy policy the first time you log in with the Geberit ID or create an account.

4 Erasure of your data

Since your personal data is stored exclusively on your device, you can delete it yourself when you uninstall the App. We do not have access to your personal data.

5 Changes to this privacy policy

The current version of this privacy policy is always available in the App under the “Information” menu item.
